How Venom Destroys Your Insides

For many of us, spiders, snakes, and centipedes trigger an innate fear. While it may seem to be due to their often many legs, or lack thereof, deeper down the phobia comes from their venom.

the most basic way to differentiate venom and poison is when it bites you and you die, it's venomous if you bite it and you die, it's poisonous

I accidentally had my hand on the screen, which skipped ahead a bit in the video, resulting in the following: “For example, many species of bird....will do anything they can to avoid them- except Antarctica” And for some reason, I just thought that was the funniest thing ever, so I wrote this comment.

I'm so glad this video mentioned the difference between poisonous and venomous. Whenever I hear people talk about "poisonous snakes," I just want to slap them upside their ignorant heads. It's even worse when I do correct them, and they just roll their eyes and say, "Whatever! You know what I mean!" Sure, I know what you mean, but do YOU know what you mean??? Knowing the difference between those two words could possibly save your life because, in an admittedly unlikely life-or-death situation, you'll know what you can safely eat to avoid starving to death. Venomous animals will sustain you. Poisonous animals will make you very dead. Most importantly, when you use those words interchangeably, you sound just plain ignorant, at least to those of us who care enough to know the difference.
